Former CEO and Chairman of the Board of Bear Stearns. Greenberg attended University of Oklahoma on a football scholarship, but after injuring his back, transferred to University of Missouri, graduating with a bachelor's degree. By 1958 he was a full partner at Bull Stearns, a global investment bank and securities trading and brokerage firm, becoming Chief Executive from 1978 to 1993, and Chairman in from 1985 to 2001. In March 2008, Bear Stearns would fall into bankruptcy and was later purchased by J. P. Morgan Chase. Greenberg gave millions to charities, was a member of the Society of American Magicians, and was a champion bridge player. Greenberg and his first wife, Anne, with whom he had two children, divorced in 1976. Greenberg died in Manhattan, NY from complications of cancer. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, August 1, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Temple B'Nai Israel Cemetery at Memorial Park Cemetery, located at Memorial and Kelly, Oklahoma City.
