- Aina Lepp (nee Prugi) passed away peacefully on January 18, 2013. She is predeceased by her husband, Raymond Lepp and her beloved son Jaan Lepp who she is now reunited with. She was a resident of Point Grey Private Hospital for the last 2 years and battled Alzheimer's in her later days.
Aina was born in Voru, Estonia in 1921, the only daughter of Ludvig and Minna Prugi. Her father died when she was 1. She loved the outdoors and especially swimming in her young years in Estonia. She studied medicine but had to leave Estonia during the war and made her home in Sweden for a time and then came to Canada where she had many friends, met her husband and started a family. She worked for many enjoyable years at St. Paul's Hospital as a technician and later in life was a pharmaceutical rep.
She travelled to many places, was very artistic and creative, loved to play bridge, host parties, read, act and was an active member of the Estonian Community in Vancouver. She lived a full and vibrant life. The proudest moment of her life was giving birth to her son Jaan.
As we say goodbye to Aina, we would like to thank the wonderful staff & companions at Point Grey Hospital for taking such good care of her and to Dr. Grantham for all his kindness and concern.
A memorial service is to be held at the Estonian Lutheran Church at 49th & Oak on Saturday Feb. 16 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the St. Paul's Hospital Foundation.
