15 December 1505: Instrument of resignation by Alexander Makculloch of Myrtoun, Knight, as procurator from Ninian Makculloch of Cardyness [Cardoness] of his resignation in the hands of the King as superior of the 20 merkland of Newtoun of Cardyness in the lordship of Cardyness and sherrifdom of Kirkcudbricht, for reinfeftment in favour of the said Ninian and of Agnes Murray his spouse conjunctly. Done in a chamber of the King's palace beside the monastery of Holyrood near Edinburgh Witnesses: James, Abbot of Dunfermlyne, Treasurer to the King, David, Abbot of Cambuskynneth, Thomas Boswell, Patrick Sinclair, George Bard, James Stewart, and James Jaklyne, with others.
