Agnes Hamilton, here treated, died before 5 December 1542, the date that her son, Janes Doig of Dunrobin, received a feu charter for various lands she had previously held in the Stewartry of Menteith. RMS 1513-46: charter number 2851

16 January 1538-39: Charter under the Great Seal of Scotland by which James V, King of Scots, confirms to James Dog, senior, and his wife Agnes Hammiltoun, possession of the lands of Dunrobene, Auchinbanno and Severte, in the Stewartry of Menteith and Sheriffdom of Perth. James Dog, senior, had previously resigned these land in order to obtain a new grant in favour of himself and his wife. The lands in question were to be held by them in conjunct fee and liferent, and afterwards by their lawful heirs, whom failing by the nearest heirs whatsoever of James Dog, senior. She is identified as the deceased mother of James Doig son and heir of the deceased James Doig of Dunrobin, who was given a feu charter for the lands previously given to his deceased mother in liferent for her service: "Jacobo Dog, filio et heredi quondam Jacobi D. de Dunrobene, - pro servitio sibi et quond. matri sue facto."

  3. + 16 M iii. John Doig of Gartincaber was born about 1511. He died before Oct 1558.
