About Admiral Horatio Nelson, 1st Viscount Nelson, KB
Note: Relationships with other people must only be created from very reliable sources, and only where there is proof. Much speculation has been written about other offspring, notably one about a son born at sea to Emma Hamilton and adopted by a Thomas Spencer, but this is unverified (see here for discussion) and should not be added to Geni.
Wikipedia: English
Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson, 1st Viscount Nelson, 1st Duke of Bronté, KB. Born 29 September 1758, died 21 October 1805.
Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson was a British flag officer in the Royal Navy. He was noted for his inspirational leadership, superb grasp of strategy, and unconventional tactics, which together resulted in a number of decisive naval victories, particularly during the Napoleonic Wars. He was wounded several times in combat, losing the sight in one eye in Corsica and most of one arm in the unsuccessful attempt to conquer Santa Cruz de Tenerife. He was shot and killed during his final victory at the Battle of Trafalgar near the Port City of Cadiz in 1805.
This book Dispatches and Letters of Vice Admiral Lord Viscount Nelson, Vol 5 and its companion volumes is of interest with regard to Nelson's career and personal relationships. He mentions Lady Hamilton, and also his nephew Captain Sir William Bolton, which show that he held him in high regard.
Of some interest is the fact that Nelson has taken to signing his letters "Nelson and Bronte", showing his attachment to an area of Sicily, then the Duchy of Bronte, created in 1799 by King Ferdinand III created Bronte as a reward the help he had provided him in suppressing the revolution in Naples and so in recovering his throne.

There's also a connection to Charlotte Mary Hood, Duchess of Bronté, who was a witness at the wedding of Sir William and Catherine Bolton.
