Matilda was born Adelaide
There is confusion about who Adelaide de Angers was. It is possible that it was Mathilda.
According to Weir[144], she (Matilda) was christened Adelaide but adopted the name Matilda on her first marriage. The primary source on which this is based has not yet been identified.
