ADELA STEFFEN
Mrs. Joachim Steffen, 65, of Rt. 1, Newton, Town of Meeme, died at home Friday evening after a lingering illness. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. James United Church of Christ, Spring Valley. The Rev. Merlin Huebschman will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. The former Adela Ohse was born July 3, 1898, in the Town of Meeme, daughter of the late Edmund and Tillie Henschel Ohse. She attended Meeme district Schools and was married to Joachim Steffen at Osman Sept. 10, 1924, and they farmed the Ohse property. She was a member of St. James United Church of Christ. Surviving are the husband, a daughter, (private); four sisters, Mrs. Lillie Larkner of Chicago, Mrs. George Hemb of Cleveland, Mrs. Paul Witthuhn of Howards Grove and Mrs. Gus Kroening of Sheboygan and three grandchildren.
