Adam House was drafted by the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War as a substitute for his father, Matthias House.

Adam was 8 years old when the family moved from the West side of the Blue Ridge Mountains to the East side, in Culpeper County Virginia.
Adam was confirmed in 1728 age 18, by the Hebron Lutheran Chruch records.
Adam was in the House Chancery Suit 1829-1832. Madison Co. Vol. 1 pg. 25 Index of Pioneers-- Mo. Adam house Legal Rep. of Adam House, claims to land in territory Louisiana March 1811. Farce-a-Rhinolith, S. Louis District. The Family might have lived here for some time before goin to Washing Co. The writer believes they went to Greenbrier, W. Va. from Culpeper area, in 1807.

Revolutionary Pension Claim #R5260 Adam House, Va
Drafted about 6/1/1778 or 1780 as substitute for his father, Matthiasserved under Capt. Bohannon and marched to Williamsburg under commands of General Stephens and Major Walsh. Claim rejected as he did not serve six months by act of 1832.
He was born in Shenadoah County, Va 1/31/1763 and stated record was in family bible in possession of his father. When 16 years old was living in Culpeper Co where he enlisted. Living in Washington Co, Mo 5/4/1835 age 70 years. Application for pension made by by his second wife
hannah, 9/8/1854 and rejected for lack of proof. Adam died 9/30/1852 and his first Catherine died on 5/10/1937. He married his first wife Catherineon 4/27/1792 Culpeper Co where they lived for 15 years.. Deposition made by John House of Texas Co, mo 11/1/1852 ag3 55 years, stated he was the son of adam and Cahterine House and named his brothers and sisters. Adam, jacob, joseph, Mary House Hall, and Catherine House hopson.
