About Adam Foreman Horne
According to the late 1950's tombstone transcriptions Adam Horne died 30 January 1879 aged 68 years and his wife Margaret Horne died 29 January 1886 aged 72 years. The Town Clerk's file 303/36 of 24/5/1943 at Auckland City Council Archives has A. Park Horne say that they were buried in the Presbyterian section, they arrived in Auckland in 1865 when Margaret Horne's brothers Robert, David and John were all in business in Queen Street. Another letter of 24/5/1945 has the 89 year old A. Park Horne asking Council to have urns containing the ashes of he and his wife placed in the ground between the headstones of his father and mother Adam and Margaret Horne. His wife died 1 week before consent was given and is buried in Pukekohe Cemetery, she came to New Zealand with her parents in 1864 aged 3 years (born around 1861). Pukekohe Cemetery records have Mary Ann Horne died 15 April 1943 aged 81 years and Adam Park Horne died 24 June 1945 aged 92 years (2179).
