About Abraham Runyan Bunnell
Birth: Oct. 16, 1832 Death: Jun. 14, 1918
Born in Springfield Ohio to Nathaniel & Susanna (Runyan) Bunnell. Feb. 1864 enlisted in Co F 128th Indiana Volunteer Infantry. During the Atlanta campaign he was taken prisoner (August 16, 1865) and was confined in the pens of Andersonville, Savannah, Wilbern, Blackshire, Florence, and Libby. From the last prison, he was exchanged in the spring of 1865, and was mustered out of the service June 9th 1865, when he returned to farm in Indiana.
Married to Susan Rinker on Dec. 25, 1862 Married to Nancy Wall on Oct 23, 1889 Father of Levi, Clark, Frank, Cora, Ora, Rosie, and John.

Following is the obituary of Abram R. bunnell, well known here: Abram R. Bunnell was born in Clark County, Ohio, October 16, 1832, and died at Ellettsville, Indiana, June 14, 1918, aged 85 years, 7 months, and 28 days. His parents came to White County, Indiana, when he was about two years of age. He was the oldest of a family of ten children. He grew to manhood in this county, being one of the pioneers of the county. In 1863 he enlisted in Company F. 128th Indiana Volunteer Infantry and was mustered out in June, 1865, having spent much of his army life in the southern prison. He was united in marriage to Susan Rinker, December 25, 1862, and to this union were born six children, two of whom died in infancy. His wife departed this life April 24, 1887, and he was married to Nancy Walls, October 23, 1889. To this union was born one child. Surviving him are his wife and five children as follows: Clark of Wanatah, Indiana; Frank of Minot, North Dakota; Cora Peetz of Salt Lake City, Utah; Ora Hill of Winamac, Indiana, and John of Montreal, Canada. Seven grandchildren, one brother, Stephen of Frankton, Indiana, and two sisters, Sophia Kenton of Valley, Oklahoma, and Rachel Carson of Monon, Indiana, also survive. He was a member of the M.E. Church for over seventy years. Services were held at his residence Monday morning under the auspices of the G.A.R. of Bloomington, Indiana, of which post he was a member after which the remains were shipped to Reynolds, where a service was conducted by Rev. Heimburger at the M.E. church and interment was made in the Bunnell cemtery.
