Abigail Lee was born in 1703 or 1704.[1] She was a daughter of Samuel and Mary Lee, who were of Killingly, Connecticut, at the time of her marriage.[2] She was married at Killingly (in the Old Congregational Church at North Killingly, now in Putnam, Connecticut) on 20 March 1723 to Stephen Cady of Killingly.[3][4]
Seven children were born to the marriage, in Killingly, Connecticut: [2]
- Samuel, born February 24 1724
- Martha, born October 14 1725, married Elisha Hopkins. He died Nov 18 1798; she died in Providence, Rhode Island, in September 1815. He served in the Revolutionary Army, first as private later as Captain and Adjutant. He was taken prisoner at Long Island in August 1776, exchanged and served to the end of the war.
- Mercy, born August 23 1729
- Isaiah b April 22 1732
- Jeremiah, baptized in Woodstock, Connecticut, on 18 May 1735; no further record
- Sarah, born July 4 1737; married Josiah Chaffee of Woodstock, Connecticutm on July 13 1758
- Rhoda, born May 5 1739, married James Chaffee of Woodstock on August 5 1759
The death of Abigail Cady, wife of Stephen, was recorded at Killingly, Connecticut, on 18 October 1782, "in the 79th year of her age."
