Biography ==A record of Abigail's birth or baptism does not exist, but she was between the ages of 14 and 21, in 1658. Taking into consideration her birth order and the ages of her siblings, a good estimate of her birth is1641/2.

When John Clark and his wife died in 1648, Abigail and her siblings were left minor orphans. Matthew Gilbert, John Wakeman, Samuell Whitehead, & John Moss, were appointed by the Court, March 5th, 1649, as overseers of the children and the estate of John Clarke, deceased. At CourtJan 10, 1658, John's age was stated as 21. Samuel and Abigail, being over the age of 14, chose guardians. Samuel chose Abraham Doolittle and Abigail chose Samuel Whitehead. After expenses of raising the children for 10 years and some losses, John received 2/5 of the estate (37L,7s, 10d). The other children received 18L, 13s, 11d each, which was delivered to their guardians.<ref name=Dexter1>Dexter, Franklin Bowditch (editor) Ancient Town Records Vol 1.
