1st wife of Adam Johnstone

By his unknown first wife, Adam Johnstone had issue : —

1. James Johnstone of Johnstone+1 b. before 1484, d. Aug 1524. Married Mary Maxwell.
2. William Johnstone1 b. before 1484, d. a 1519.

Adam Johnstone married 2ndly after June 1484 to Marion Scott, widow of Archibald Carruthers of Mouswald, younger. No known children.

Adam Johnstone, son of John Johnstone, is referred to on 13 February 1489-90 as brother and heir of the late John Johnstone of that ilk. He was, in 1498, concerned in an attack of the house of Glendinning. He died before 21 November 1509.

Sir Adam Johnstone was apparently twice married, though the name of his first wife has not been discovered.

The name of his second wife was Marion Scott, widow of Archibald Carruthers, younger of Mouswald. Marion Scott's first husband was still alive in June 1484.1 Marion survived Adam, and was alive in March 1511.2
