Are you talking about Mary Waddell?

My Grandmother was Mary Alice ( Whittington)Waddell and my Great Grandmother was Mary (Best ) Waddell. Betty Edwards was my cousin......I don't remember ever meeting her .
I'd be interested in sharing information with you.

This is great news. I am definitely keen to learn more as you can likely fill in some gaps that I have in the Waddell tree especially!

I don't have much on the Waddell side except for Thomas Waddell and Mary Alice Waddell on one side and Mary's parents Maurice Whittington and Catherine Parsons.

I only have Edith Mary Waddell listed as the offspring of George Waddell and Mary Alice Waddell and I am sure that there is more here.

I am currently based in Mount Isa. My Mother Elizabeth (Gulley) Harvey (who is also keen on the history) is based in Brisbane.

Again keen to share more and to get you added into the tree so that you can be part of the project!

Great to hear from you. I am ,or was, Patricia Waddell . My parents were Jim Waddell and Ina Rose Hapgood. Jim is Edith Mary Edwards younger brother ,making me your mothers cousin.
You are correct there were ten children in the Waddell family:Margaret Alice, Edith Mary, George Malcolm,Maurice John aka Jack,Ida, Dorothy May, James Charles. Amy Patricia, Jessie Catherine and Jean. The first four were born in Charters Towers the rest at the Two Mile.

Their first child ,George, was born in Tandragee, Armagh,....he is my Grandfather.The remaining children were all born at the Two Mile except for Malcolm who was born at Dalby . So their children were George, Malcolm, Margaret, Thomas, Francis, James and John
I have dates etc for these.
Thomas was accidentally killed in a mine accident,
Thomas ' father was Thomas and his mother was Jane Greer......I have their deat certificates . They lived and died in Druminure Armagh. Their house still stands , Restored of course.
Their kids were , John, Robert , Samuel ,Thomas, Sarah ann (Sally) Robert #2 Mary Jane,Margaret,Moses, James . Sam , Tom, Margaret, and Sally for sure came to Qld. I think James did too but I can't be sure
I;d better stop here . I have a huge family tree of the Whittingtons. Mary Ann/Alice My Grandmother Came to Australia on the Merkarain1886.....

My Father is James Charles Waddell younger brother of Edith Mary Waddell.
I'm confused about your Dad. Was he the Deputy Head master at Gympie High in about 1957?
Do you want dates and locations for all those folk?
The two youngest Edwards children were Dorothy Edith and Albert Maurice aka Jack ......Twins, Born13 October 1927 Gympie. My Father always called him John. Why ,I do not know.
Ruth Parker has written a book about the Edwards Family. If you don;t have it and would like a copy, I'll send you her 'address. She titled it 'A Shepherds Pride ' . I thought it was well done. Cheers, Patricia Irvine
