I have been trying to follow the news concerning the mill and the dumping of toxic waste into the Pearl River this week. The fish kill was devastating to see. My latest news from home indicates that the Pearl and surrounding land through the Bogalusa area has cleared but the mill is still on shut-down with only a skeleton crew working. I understand they are awaiting further test results and decisions as to what fines and penalties to impose on the mill. I hope that those of you in town will keep the rest of us posted as this story continues.
