Erica, your Ulrich is born abt 1700, Bobby's Ulrich is born abt 1600. It is not impossible they had the same ancestors before 1600, but I don't know internet searchpossibilities in Germany and Switzerland, however the dutchman Klaas Jansen, Private User ,administrator of WeRelate, http://www.werelate.org/wiki/User:Ekjansen ,is an enthousiastic genealogist and lives a very longtime in Switzerland.

Johann Georges Stelly b 1716 Germany is Bobby Stelly's first immigrant, to Louisiana.

So if they connect with my North Carolina / Kentucky Staleys I think must have been in Europe. ?

Fred on the link I posted about the different Stele families, it seemed that some of the Swiss ones were Anabaptists. But I'm just beginning this really.

Erica..also I believe we have two different Ulrich Stele/Stehle/Stehlin mine is from the Donzdorf, Baden-Wurttemburg, Germany area.

The Kentucky Staley could be my branch. My ancestors went to Oregon but other Staley's went to Texas, and then could have traveled east to Louisiana.
