Bobby I need your help then. I have Stailey in Kentucky and I'm not sure if they link back to Ulrich Stele or not. Do you have a good link for me to study?

Bobby Stelly is Ulrich Stahlin's 9th great grandson.

Ulrich Stahlin→Christian Stählin his son→Johann Stählin, Sr.his son→Johann Stählin his son→Jacques Jean Stelly his son→Jacque Jean Stelly his son→Denis Jerome Stelly his son→F. Stelly his son→J. Stelly his son→E. Stelly his son→M. Stelly his son→B. Stelly his son

This is my possible 6th great grandfather's profile

Johannes Ulrich Jacob Staley

Illuminations, corrections, and documentation welcome.

I think my branch is the Swiss Staley's.

On this site they note 49 different name spellings!

Do a find on Switzerland Staleys

Erica, your Ulrich is born abt 1700, Bobby's Ulrich is born abt 1600. It is not impossible they had the same ancestors before 1600, but I don't know internet searchpossibilities in Germany and Switzerland, however the dutchman Klaas Jansen, Private User ,administrator of WeRelate, http://www.werelate.org/wiki/User:Ekjansen ,is an enthousiastic genealogist and lives a very longtime in Switzerland.

Johann Georges Stelly b 1716 Germany is Bobby Stelly's first immigrant, to Louisiana.

So if they connect with my North Carolina / Kentucky Staleys I think must have been in Europe. ?

Fred before I started looking in Europe I wanted to make sure I had the right American Staley. As there are 49 spelling variations. :)

to much to mention in AKA................................

Exactly!

Now the different branches in Europe are interesting too. Anabaptists?

did HIM Prince Corey find out that or was it allready wellknown ?

Fred on the link I posted about the different Stele families, it seemed that some of the Swiss ones were Anabaptists. But I'm just beginning this really.

Erica I found something that may interested you stated here:

http://www.familytreedna.com/public/Stahly-Stehly/

Clan #13:A participant from Louisiana in the USA, with the surname Staley, has a 11/12 match with the Hilterfingen participant (Clan 9), indicating the probability of a shared common ancestry between the two participants. However, further testing indicates that this is a "false positive," as a genetic distance of 21 at the 37 marker level means that there is no common male ancestor for these two participants. The situation is especially likely to happen in the R1b1 haplogroup.

The participant from Louisiana traces his ancestry back to Kentucky in the 19th century.

Erica..also I believe we have two different Ulrich Stele/Stehle/Stehlin mine is from the Donzdorf, Baden-Wurttemburg, Germany area.

The Kentucky Staley could be my branch. My ancestors went to Oregon but other Staley's went to Texas, and then could have traveled east to Louisiana.

Have you guys found what you were looking for yet. My Ancestry subscription end on May 11, 2019 if you need me to look up something by chance.
