Alexander Knox of Eden Hill, co. Down, married, had two sons:
Alexander (1757-1831), theologian, and friend of John Wesley
and George (1769-1841), a merchant in Dublin and planter in Jamaica.
He married in 1804 Letitia Greenfield (1783-1835), grand-daughter of Letitie Knox of Prehen.
They had two sons: George Knox (1814-1892), Chaplain to the East India Company,
and Alexander Andrew Knox, writer
Another descendant Alexander Knox was born at Eden Hill in 1802. He graduated in 1831
and became a distinguished medical practitioner in Dublin
He wrote "A Historyof County Down' in 1875
