From the data above, it looks as though he did not survive his birth. The Edward Brinto[n] I am searching for was a mason at Jamestown (1607) with the first colonists. I understand that the surname underwent several changes and eventually became GORNTO. Apparently, from Princess Anne County VA the family migrated to Lowndes County GA and then to Lafayeete County and Suwanee County in FL. There is nothing about PA in anything I have found to date. The line I am tracing back is through my Grandmother born Julia Gornto in Williston levy FL. Her father ia John M Gornto son of Elijah D. Gornto son of Natha(iel) Gornto. Here things get a little murky with the surnames possibly being Grinto and Gonton. These were brothers, so it isn't too much of a stretch to see where Gornto may have come from. Let me know what you think.
