Joseph Renaud came to America alone to check out just how things were. Once satisfied he returned to France to get family. He died on the return ship and his family landed in Louisiana. The wife and two teenage males arrived in New Orleans. After conferring with officials about her plight, the officials provided her with a job as a washer woman at the catherial. The boys went to Cafe DuMonde (probably the present day French Market) and manded the cattle gates for the cattle that were being herded into New Orleans. A Landry, from Delcambre, La., herded cattle to New Orleans to sell and met the two young men. Met with their mom and asked if the young men could return to Delcambre with him. She remained in New Orleans and remarried and had a daughter. KLEMME, ADELAIDE wife name.
