We've just added our 3,000 profile on geni.com to the Mormon Pioneer Projects!
http://www.geni.com/projects/Mormon-Pioneers-1847-1868-Master-Project
The project started back in October of 2010 with Brigham Young being the first profile added. Since then we've been adding profiles daily. We hit the 1,500 profile back in December and this week surpassed the 3,000 mark but with an estimated 70,000 men, women and children that came as Mormon pioneers there is still a lot of people to find.
Here is how you could help.
If you have ancestors or profiles that you manage that arrived in Utah, Arizona, Idaho, Nevada or some part of California between 1847 and 1868 there is a high likelihood that they were Mormon Pioneers.
If this is the case I'd love to collaborate with you. Just respond back to this post with:
1) Your name
2) A link to your pioneer ancestor.
3) Make your pioneer ancestor's profile public not private so that others can see it.
1) I'll send you a collaboration request.
2) I'll include your ancestor in the Mormon Pioneer Projects
The benefit to you is that you is the increased likelihood that other descendants will help improve our shared family tree.
Thanks,
Randy Stebbing
