We need to investigate exactly how many daughters they had and whether their names are known. And we need to source our data.
I detached Penelope Ann Thompson, Capt. Thomas Youell and Christopher Yowell.
Edmund Jennings Lee (page 73 - 74) cites three daughters: (1) Winifred married to a Mr. English; (2) a daughter married to a Mr. Spence; (3) a daughter married to a Mr. Watts.
Jacqueli has: Winfred (English), Elizabeth (Watts), but has two different daughters married to a Patrick Spence (Jemima and Dorcas). I suspect that only one of these is correct. She also has a Mary with no other information.
James had a male Dorcas, but I merged him with the female Dorcas.
Hatte Blejer on hiatus
I sent you a message with links and info that does show the information is correct.
Hatte Blejer on hiatus It;s great you are using ELJ's book as a reference, but it is outdated and new information has been discovered and documented since it's publishing. If you go by that book then you will be deleting many descendants and lines as in William and Francis that have been proven - not to forget some of the Ditchley children that had been lost too.
Elizabeth Lee Ann Watts / Walker / Payne
Her dates must be wrong if she's a daughter. Again, she needs to be researched and corrected.

Patrick Spence II was married to Penelope Youell, daughter of Thomas Youell of Westmoreland County. Mrs. W.H. Whitley details this in her "Notes on the Spence Family," in Genealogies .... Vol. III, pp. 348-50. Thomas Youell, born in 1644, according to a deposition, wrote his will on December 7, 1694, and he mentioned his grandson, Thomas Spence. (WB 2, p. 22) Penelope Spence helped in the settling of Patrick II's estate. On August 29, 1694, she and Alexander Spence returned an inventory of Patrick's estate. (COB 1690-1698) And other circumstantial evidence also points to her as the wife of Patrick II.
After the death of Patrick II, Penelope married Thomas Thompson:
Judgment is granted John Newton Attorney of Rombout Phillipps, factor and agent of Frederick Phillipps, merchant of New York, against Thomas Thompson as marrieing Penelope Spence Executrix of Patrick Spence, for 3387 pounds of tobacco. (COB 1690-1698, p. 223, 27 Jan. 1696)

Another similar court order was granted James Thomas Thompson, and Penelope his wife, on 25 (COB 1690-1698, p. 233)
Patrick Spence and Penelope had children. The

(COB 1698-1705, p. 202)

Spence Gent. relateing to the orphants of Patrick Spence it is ordered that Thompson draw upp and settle accounts before the next Court between the orphants and himself and give security for the same or otherwise to surrender the orphants' estates to Alexr. 24 February 1703/4. John Chilton assumed with Mr. Thomas Thompson to Alexr. Winifred (Youell) English and Walter English, Jr. had four children by her first marriage, Walter, Youell, Edmund and Lucy English.
She apparently had only one child by her marriage to John Atwell.
The will of Thomas Youell (abstract) states will dated 7 Dec. 1694 and proved May 1695 and mentions grandsons Youell English, Youell Watts and Thomas Spence; daughter Ann Watts; John Atwell; *daughter Spence; daug. Winifred English. Thomas Surman had a daughter Ann who married Capt. Thomas Youell. Their son Thomas Youell married Anna Lee. This son, Thomas Youell is the one who made the will in 1694. His daughter, Penelope married first Patrick Spence Jr. (son of Patrick Spence Sr. and Dorcas---). Penelopes sister Winnifred m. Walter English and had a son Youell and sister Ann married first William Watts who had a son Youell Watts". *It is Penelope Youell Spence who is being refered to in her fathers will as "daughter Spence".

Can we verify the birth / death dates of Ann Lee and Major Thomas Youell?
The dates for some of the children just do not work. They would be born before the parents.
I need 2 - 3 RELIABLE, preferably primary sources. I'm now more confused than before as to who the children of Ann Lee and Thomas Youell were.
And whose child was Penelope Youell? Not Ann and Thomas Youell's because she married Dorcas'

"Jacqueli has: Winfred (English), Elizabeth (Watts), but has two different daughters married to a Patrick Spence (Jemima and Dorcas). I suspect that only one of these is correct. She also has a Mary with no other information."

I still have some questions:
Did Jemima and Dorcas REALLY both marry men named Patrick Spence?
The dates of Elizabeth Ann Youell (1672 - 1699) conflict with her having three husbands and having a child born in 1710.
Where did Penelope Youell who married Patrick Spence II come from?? Who are her parents?
Am I reading the dates on Elizabeth Ann Youell wrong? What year did she did in?
I see THREE Patrick Spences. (1) married to Dorcas; (2) his son, Patrick II married to Penelope Youell; (3) another one married to Jemima.
Hatte Blejer on hiatus I have presented what the legal sources and documentation states - there were 3 Patrick Spences -all 3 separate individuals - this descent and records are based on the wills, probate, land transactions and court records that have been uncovered on these individuals. Because birth records were never recovered, probably because of fire and/or the wars that had occurred - it is not based on speculation, opinions or assumptions - and it was not uncommon back then for cousins to marry. It is what it is - there are alot of arguments about this particular lineage out there and different interpretations - but this is based on the factual evidence presented - nothing more. You can look at the "about" on the birth and death - but these have been estimates based on the court records - generally giving 10 years give or take on the possible deaths or births - that has been done for many in genealogy if actual birth records cannot be traced or found. There is too much evidential records to doubt the actual facts of the documentation that has been recovered. Even some of our most prominent figures in history have had "about" dates in general which apply in these circumstances. So I am just presenting you with what I have and Jim Lawler had based on those facts.
