I found James E. Evans, who was born in Illinois around 1838, as having a listing in the 1880 census. There it says his parents were from ...what looks like "I of Kuror". Not sure what that is, but there is an Isle of Kerrera off the British coast. Anyone have an idea as to what it could be?
