I am looking to find more relatives and information on my family on my father's mother's side. Her name was Ruth Ella Colwell(b. Dec 1908 - Summer 1999) and she married Walter Freer Brace. She had two sons Walther Charles(b. 3-31-33) and Carl. Carl died soon after his birth. I know that she had siblings with the names William (Bill), Miles, Merle, Dorcas, Mary and Margaret and I think she had a baby sister that died during the Spanish influenza. It would be great if anyone could share any info on these people and their families.

The 1920 Census for Hughestown, Luzerne, Pennsylvania shows her (Ruth Ella Colwell) as age 11 living with her father Samuel, her mother Agnes and the same siblings you show. Hughestown, PA looks like it must have been a mining town as most of the men are listed as working for the coal company including Ruth's 17 year old older brother William.

If you don't already have this info from the 1920 census let me know and I'll provide you with full info.

To confirm that were talking about the same family...Was Ruth's mother named Agnes and born in Pennsylvania and her grandfather born in Ireland?

I would really appreciate it. She cared for my siblings and I so our parents could work and I remember her telling me that her father was from Ireland but as I said I can't really remember any details. She was a wonderful story teller its just too bad that I never thought to write anything down while she was alive. My dad confirmed that her mother was Agnes and her father was Samuel. (Dad is really elderly and he can't remember things very well anymore) Thanks!

I've sent you a separate message to your personal profile inbox with a link to the 1920 census images for your ancestor, as well as a link to the index only, (no pictures), of the 1920 census on familysearch.org.

You should be able to use familysearch.org to do additional free research to document your family tree. The images I linked you to came from Ancestry.com.

Happy hunting and good luck on finding your family.
