Hello to all relatives,
I have a problem with Patrick, who is at the top of our tree. He would be my 3X Grandfather, his wife was Hanoria and it looks as though he had another wife also. The children's branches are split between the two wives. I have information leading me to believe that Catherine and Sarah were twins but it is possible they were step/half sisters. The split of the children could also be that Patrick had a brother that we do not have records on. Katey O'Dea and Aileen Crawford have been especially helpful in the research they have done for all of us. If any of us have the opportunity to meet them we should get them a pint of fine Irish beer. Any info anyone can provide will be appreciated.
Thank you,
William Dowling Crawford -(John Patrick Crawford - Patrick Henry Crawford - John Patrick Henry Crawford - Andrew Crawford - Patrick Crawford)
I've just done a really quick look through that line and have a few basic observations.
Great job adding portraits! Being artistic in nature, I always love *literally* being able to put a face on the characters of our past.
In looking for clues here, just on the Geni site, the nearest individual I can find a locational clue for is Catherine Crawford who is buried in Ireland.
Also, currently, Hanoria and are all "Private." This is entirely within your privacy rights according to present Geni policy and personal settings. However, there is a surprising wealth of information for individuals around the turn of the century with more being added daily!
One of the other things I did was to look at *potential* "Matches" for profiles in the surrounding area. As I'm unable to view private data, I can't compare those profiles to others. Often by tying into other existing profiles and trees, new sources, leads, and connections reveal themselves.
The collaborative process here, while at times controversial, has yielded tremendous results.
So, some next steps: Consider making another generation in that area "Public", find users outside of your family to "Collaborate" with, enter birth or death locations where you know them. Even theories can be added in the "About" area of a profile. Breadcrumbs left about can give others a place to start.
You've already done the most productive thing -- participating in discussions! There is so much to be gained in learning from and teaching others.
