Hi Everyone,

I've sent a few emails to Mel asking for him to remove the connections between our William and Johnathan Wells and William Wells and Sarah Westmoreland. It was proven a long time ago by DNA testing that they are not the parents nor is there any relationship whatsoever. Also, there has never been any proof that John Allen Wells is related other than through marriage to Elizabeth Livingston's sister. We are still trying to get someone of this line to provide DNA samples so that we can be sure. Until then there is no proof that he is a brother. Also, there is no proof that I know of that Kizziah Wells is a sister. I just want to make sure that we are correct with our trees.

I have been in contact with Orin Wells and Lady Bonita who run the Wells family DNA testing project and have confirmed that William and Jonathan Wells are not related to William Wells and Sarah Westmoreland, nor to Hasten Wells or Kizziah Wells.

While there is a relationship between John Allen Wells and the brothers [they are all in DNA family W032] there are too many marker differences to make them brothers. They were most likely cousins.

Orin is looking for another male descendant from each family to join the DNA testing to doubly confirm these findings and then there will be no ounce of doubt as to these relationships.
