I have copied and pasted some info within this note from a profile from one Edward Dunn for Francis. Ed is eating all my profiles for the Lederachs, Wismer and Kunz. Once he does, or another curator helps him merge with mine, my info is erased and my pathways change. My once grandparents have no pathways to me, a few only by marriage. These are direct ancestors of mine, people I have researched and have added to the tree. Dates are different. I know they are the same people, according to their names and basic children, but without my specific grandparent. This is also happening with Jonathan Goodspeed, he is disconnecting my ancestors completely and leaving my info without my ancestor. Very confusing, very frustrating. And, these people will not even write me when I tell them to reconnect it the right way or to stop merging, if they can't get it right. BUT NO ANSWER after months of trying. This note was written by Michael Sortomme on 4-2-2011.
Here's Ed's info on MY GRANDFATHER:

How is Ed "eating" your profiles? When a profile is merged with a profile you manage, you retain management of the profile.
Their may be some data conflicts that need to be resolved post merge. Geni does pick data to show until the data conflicts are resolved. I would guess that cases like this having sources on the profile would help Geni decide which data to show, and help anyone trying to resolve the data conflicts to pick the right data.
These people are NOT disconnecting your ancestors. The Geni software often times will not show you the correct branch when there are tree conflicts. In the case of a tree conflict you may view the tree, but it has the other managers parents of the profile shown. That might be the end of their research, versus your branch which might go on for generations. Once the tree conflicts are resolved and the parent profiles are merged or the wrong set of parents disconnected (in the case of bad research) then the tree will look normal again.
