For anyone interested in Neill McLaurin's and Mary McLucas' family, Mary's father is also listed in the book on page 322: Daniel McLucas (1763-1832), son of Archibald McLucas and Mary McInnes. Mary McLucas and Neill McLaurin Had a daughter named Mary who married James McQeen Strickland. This is my line.
Barbara
The date in Kinfolks gives Ann born 19 Dec 1825, died 12 Sep 1860
Red Bluff Cemetery gives her as born 19 Dec 1825 and died 8 Sep 1860
In the book of Banks McLaurin and cousin gives the same as the Red Bluff has.
There is also some records give that Elizabeth died in 1877 and some 1878, but all give July 4. The Will though was written 1868 and probated 5 Dec. 1877 so I think the 1877 would have to win out.
Banks McLaurin has John Laughlin McLaurin on separate sheets of his lineage sent to me, but in the book he has him as John Lauchlin McLaurin. He was the son of Laughlin McLaurin born Isle of Skye and died 1822 buried Stewartsville Cemetery married about 1783, Sarah Annie McColl born 1761 Isle of Mull died 1817 buried ditto. They lived in Caiderly Scotland 1786. They had other children: i. Laughlin, Jr. born 1784 died 1828/9, married Mary McLaurin ii. Hugh C. (Red) born 1786 born 1786 (Scotland birth record given) died 1871; married Nancy McLaurin; iii. Margaret born 1790 enroute to USA married Peter McLaurin; iv. Mary born 1793 died 1873 married Daniel McLaurin; v. Daniel Calhoun born 1795 died 1823/4 married Sallie Cameron (2) Elizabeth Stanton. then vi. John Laughlin/Lauchlin born 1799 died 1856 buried Red Bluff married 1825 Elizabeth Bethea born 1805 died 1877 bur. Red Bluff. Lived Marlboro Co.
I believe the records of Monty I on Family tree maker is probably correct or near. One of the McLaurin's I corresponded with a few years ago and gave him some information. He said Banks McLaurin had given him all his records and gave him permission to us it on the internet. Banks and cousin did group it into B and etc. to distinguish on the family groups that were close. Some of those were then placed into another numbered grouping as their families knowledge had been known and further away in closeness.
Banks had many records, some of Scotland in this book also.
Someone else sent me a document that seems to be like the one on line taken from another old book.
Banks gives Laughlin to be the son of Daniel McLaurin and married _____McColl who lived and died in Scotland. Their children came to USA in 1790 sailing from Port Appin to Wilmington, N. C. He shows a possible relationship of the earlier ancestors, all born in Scotland, but apparently the person on line had more material from Banks and has it back from Daniel to Christian bc. 1690 md. Unk Cameron s/o John McLaurin bc. 1645 md. Unk. Cameron s/o Daniel bc. 1610 md. unk Stewart. That seems to be the way it goes. If you need anything let me know.
