Two things I do not like:
1) If you go to it without having logged in to Geni, it requires a Log In - sending you back to the regular Geni Log in. If already logged in to Geni, it automatically logs you in to Help when you enter a comment. BUT - when you log out of the Help area, it does NOT log you out of Geni - nor does it return you to the regular Geni area. For those of us using public computers, this increases the chance we will walk away without having logged out -- and whoever next types "geni.com" on that computer will find themselves in our account. NOT GOOD!
2) When did a search on my name, noticed entries made in Help by me come up in the Google Search. Do not appreciate this. Having set my profile to Not Searchable by the general public, this is not the case for Public Discussions. Why is it for comments in Help??
Why are my help requests no longer answered? I'm a paid-up Lifetime member and curator. I have gone to Actions and Reports and sent reports on abandoned trees and historical figures (and people dead before 1700) and never received any notification of the results. Were the trees released? Who is managing them now? When can I complete the related merges? Etc. Can you answer these questions @Ashiya? Thanks!
Abandoned trees has nothing to do with help requests.
It's a long time since Geni stopped to release these, with a good reason: They might be abandoned because those who added them have nothing more to add and want to preserve them as they are for their descendants or for activating them again in a couple of years.
Fake trees or trees created by claimed historical profiles are however still removed.
