Elizabeth Winter (daughter of William Winter of Lidney and Maria Langton) married Sir William Morgan, (son of Thomas Morgan and Elizabeth Bodenham. ) He was born 1556 in Wales and died in 1629 in Bristol, Gloucester England.

Their daughter was Elizabeth Morgan born 1583 in Tredegar, Monmouth, Wales.
She married William Morgan, born 1582 in Llandoff, Glamorganshire, Wales .
They both died in Bristol, Gloucestershire, England.

Her husband's parents were ( William Morgan born 1556 in Llandaff, Glamorganshire, Wales and Cwladis Morgan, born about 1558 in Tredegar, Monmouth, Wales.)

Location of Elizabeth Winter in GENI :

Elizabeth Morgan

There are also a number of William Morgans placed in the wrong generations.

Elizabeth Winter did not marry a John Morgan.

Curators need to assist in the unraveling of the scrambled lineage.

I have been trying to edit dates where possible, but it is not enough.

Myers Family Tree

With so many William Morgans, there are many mistakes in the information that has been attached to my tree for the Myers Family.

I'll ask our Medieval Curators to take a look at this discussion and the relevant profiles.

Thanks Shmuel-Aharon Kam (Kahn)

Two-thirds of these names are OK.......but there are many mistakes in
this part of the Morgan genealogy.

Perhaps the Medieval Curators can sort it out and correct the problems.

Several of the William Morgans are in the wrong generation.

Thanks for the encouragement.

@Ethel johanna Myers, I have made a start on this mix up. It is not an area I am familiar with however so I will need some guidance. For a start, can you please tell me who the parents of Elizabeth Bodenham are? and the parents of Thomas Morgan her husband? Also Is Thomas a Sir or not?

Can you also tell who Cwladis Morgan(1558)'s parents were?
Also what children did each couple have (for certain)(possibly)?

Dear Terry Jackson: I was just looking up this information yesterday and copying it into my genealogy program. I think it is reasonably correct.

The Parents of Elizabeth Bodenham (born about 1538 in Machen, Monmouthshire, Wales) are Roger Bodenham (1512-15790 )
and Jane Whittington.

The Parents of Sir Thomas Morgan (b.abt 1534 in Machen, Monmouthshire, Wales - died 1603 ) They were Sir Rowland Morgan (b. abt 1498 Machen, Monmouth, Wales- died about 1577. and his wife,
Blanche Jones, born about 1512 in Llanarth, Monmouth, Wales.

If you wish, I have the parents for Rowland and a father for Blanche.

Here is the website that I found:

beatieancestors - aqbn57 - Generated by Ancestral Quest

19424. Rowland MORGAN
Rowland was Sheriff of the county in 1558. Like many Welsh families, the Morgans had prospered through their support of the victor at the Battle of Bosworth in 1485.
In 1485 the Battle of Bosworth had ended the Wars of the Roses and in general the Welsh had backed the winning side. It then became possible to construct a large family home without the need for feudal architecture such as loopholes and gun ports. The Morgans, a powerful Monmouthshire family settled at Pencoed for some time. These were the Morgans that had descended from Morgan ap Llywelyn in 1330, the man responsible for the creation of the surname "Morgan".
Rowland was a sheriff in 1557.
Children:
i. THOMAS MORGAN b: 1534.
ii.HENRY MORGAN b: 1536. in Llaurhynmy, Monmouth, Wales; died 1603 in Llaurhynmy, Monmouth, Wales. Married Catherine Kemeys about 1561 in Llaurhynmy, Monmouth, Wales. Catherine was born in 1540 in Llaurhynmy, Monmouth, Wales. Henry and Catherine Morgan had at least three children: Thomas, Infant (born & died abt 1562) and Blanch (born abt 1564). From his branch descended Sir Henry Morgan of Jamaica, privateer and adventurer, who was knighted by King Charles II and became Lieutenant-Govenor of Jamaica. He is known in history as "Morgan the Pirate."
iii.ANN MORGAN b: 1542
iv. MARY MORGAN b: 1542
v.  ELIZABETH MORGAN b: 1544
vi  CATHERINE MORGAN b: 1546

Terry: Correction: The Genealogical and personal memoirs edited by William Richard Cutter and others says that Blanche Thomas, wife of
Rowland Morgan of Machen, was the daughter of John Thomas of Llanarth. She may have had a first marriage with a man name Jones, but I have not found that connection.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So far as Cwladis goes: She is also called Gwladis ferch Dafydd
She was born 1558 in Tredegar, Monmouth, Wales and died about 1560.
In the website below, the links are to a long line of Welsh ancestors.
I have been calling her husband William Morgan, but in the Welsh style of identifying people he is called Morgan Ap Llewellyn.
The Parents of Gwladis are Dafydd Gwyn ap Gwallter and
Gwenilian Ferch Gwilym.
The Parents of William Morgan alias Morgan ap Llewellyn are
Llewelyn ap Dafydd and Joan Ferch John.
The following websites show the connections to the descendants.
Any one know anything about the children of Gideon Morgan and Elizabeth Ann Hardin ? Bev Watson beverwat@yahoo.com
2 of 3 of your sources seem to say that Blanche was Jones not Thomas.
I had already split off the Blanche Thomas before spotting your 'correction' message. I can probably add Blanche Thomas back and keep both there with a curators message saying that there is confusion to be settled. OR
I could leave it as it is with a curators note and information in the overview about Blanche Thomas.
ANOTHER MIX UP BUT NOT MORGANS
I was wondering if anyone in the MORGAN/WYNTER family would know of any connection between Elizabeth Winter to a John Emmons/Emans/Emons? I am VERY CONFUSED by the I have discovered on ANCESTRY.COM. because what I've found doesn't make any sense...…. I have Emans in my lineage and researching for info I discovered a WHOLE LOTTA people have Lady Winter and John Emans having had a child together (married????)...which I have to think is pretty far fetched...has anyone seen or heard of any Emans relationships with either the Winters or Morgans ? THANK YOU SO MUCH
