Geni Availability

It is obvious that GENI is successful as a Geneology service...howefer it appears that success has overloaded the server capability. Thus GENI must provide an upgrade to theexisting servers...there is too much down time due to busy servers...particularly over the past 3 weeks!

James, I have been more or less online here last 3 weeks, and have not notice one single down time.
Had a few error yes, but not down time.

James, I'm connected to Geni daily for most of the day. I'm not seeing anything extraordinary.

Perhaps downtime isn't the same everywhere for everyone. Geni went down for me Sunday afternoon, and I wasn't able to get back on till Monday. And then, none of my pages would load correctly. I put in a help ticket to the Geni Team Sunday night, and finally everything was back to normal Tuesday morning.

I agree completely with James. During the past few days, I've experience a number of "GENi will be right back. Read the pdf Help file while you wait". Looks to me like to much load on some servers, and it seems to me that it happens while the US is awake, which means in the evening here in Norway.

The message I had Sunday said it was scheduled maintenance. I had the message you got yesterday afternoon, but in 30 seconds I was back on.
