One of the reasons I am against merging profiles is exactly this instance (among others). Morgan Cobb son of Augustine and Bethia (Harvey) Cobb did indeed have two wives. First was Susannah Wills (Willis) who he married abt. 1695. After her death he married her sister Abigail Willis (Willis) both daughters of Benjamin and Susannah (Whitman) Willis. The Esther put in this Morgan's Profile is, I assume, Esther Hodges born 1683, died 1752. Esther Hodges abt. 1705, married Capt. Morgan Cobb b. abt.1680, Taunton, d. Apr.28,1769, Taunton. This Morgan Cobb parents were John Cobb and Jane Godfrey Woodward. John Cobb was Augustine Cobb's Uncle. If you are going to put something out in geneology, do some fact checking of your own, don't perpetuate mistakes made by others in the past. This only leads to the passing of Falsehoods and Myths between people genuinely searching for their heritage. At this point, I will refuse any mergers of family trees until I've researched all the details in the merger. I have tried to delete Esther from the Morgan in question and have been unable to do so. Thus the mistake continues. Cliff Cobb

Private User - Thank you for taking such quick action. This is an example of the benefits of working with someone!

Clifford - Starting the conversation is ideally the best way to raise questions about an individual. Then, another manager (hopefully with some knowledge) can step in just like Jeff did!

Often, we are able to share with each other pieces of research undiscovered by the others. Sometimes we can help move past a brick wall. And, sometimes we just commiserate on the persistent lack of clarification for a spouse or set of parents or...

If for some reason, none of the other managers chime in or there aren't any Pros available or it is some baffling tech question, then you can always post your request in the "ATTENTION Curators, please assist" discussion.
