Petition: Keep the "How are you related?" Box

why on earth get rid of it? its a great feature as was most popular relatives and ancestors feature, can we have that back please?

Please keep it! I use it all the time & really appreciate the info I get from it, not just how I'm related to someone, but having all the connections shown.

Where does this plan source from? I have seen nothing from Geni indicating a planned change like this.

I like it - why else be a Pro member? Does it take too much computing power?

"how are you related is certainly a valuable tool for anyone wiht a large
record of ancestors. This is the first time that I have been able to reliably
say how I am related to someone 12 generations back in history.

Perhaps there is an expense to this feature that the company is trying to
eliminate. It would help if they would explain. The program appears to be designed to find those relationships quickly and easily.

I won't speak for him or geni, since I have no role in geni other than "user"... but, given my recent chats with Noah... I suspect this entire thread is based on a misconception.

Victor... I know your curator role gives you more insight into what geni is doing and/or is planning to do... but you really should investigate all the possibilities before assuming the worst.

Erica and any other curators here... if I'm right about from whence this came... I'm shocked that you did not piece together what Victor was talking about.

I'm even more shocked that you did not see through this as nothing more than a bad reaction to something that has not yet happened (and likely won't).

No decision has been made. As I understand it, at worst, the link will be moved - not removed. No need to panic.

Hey , good news all! Geni took heed of our cries and plans to keep the pathway box above profiles.

This petition was driven by a mock- up design created by the Geni team of the new profile page. Myself and others hoped that through this petition , we could everyone a voice to let Geni know how sorely missed this feature would have been. Today they responded with a new mock -up, returning the "How are you related ?" box back to profiles .
