Geni has released a fix for the image issue.
To quote ---
As requested and promised, curators can now remove media from profiles.
We made to changes to permissions to make this happen:
1. Any user can now tag/untag any profile they can edit
2. Curators can tag any media
Of course, even Curators can only tag a picture if they can see, so in effect this just means that non-curators can remove their family's photos from a profile, and Curators can remove photos from public profiles.

I would like to keep using this project to identify and organize images, particularly curated ones, that need a fix.
