Hiram, (Capt. ?) Charles, William, James and Robert were all veterans of the Battle of King's Mountain. I have personally seen their names on the monument at King's Mountain and they are listed in "The Overmountain Men" by Pat Alderman. Supposedly they were five brothers who originally came from Ireland. Their father was a veteran of the 2nd Jacobite Revolution which culminated with the Battle of Culloden (16 April 1746) and the defeat of Bonnie Prince Charlie's Highland Scots.
