I have traced some of my ancestors to be descendants of Unknown Profile. Since these appear to be the same profiles, I think they should be merged.

Ok.. I've done additional merging. There are many that are still pending, but they should a least be identified now as matches. Perhaps a curator could take it home if they're already in the big tree.
