In continuing research with the census information, this reference to Frances McBride (MacBride-Colfer?) was interesting. With the names spelled incorrectly (need to verify the actual census film), yet this wold place her as the grandmother of Milton MacBride and Valerie MacBride (Hurley). The dates would place Milton and Valerie in the correct age range, and if this is the correct person, then Frances Colfer's mother and father were both born in New Jersey.

If the census always listed others in the household, then this would mean that both parents did not live there.

This needs to be cross referenced and official documents need to be verified:

There is still some confusion about the father, particularly with the notification of a "Milton MacBride", who would be their father, as being married in Ohio in 1927. The dates are correct and if this is the same Milton MacBride, then this could mean that he and Nan (Anona Walsh) were never married? This would also infer that he was married when his son Milton was 14 and Valerie was 12. I had never heard about any of this before, and before anything specific is determined, the research on the census and documents will need to be seen on the film or official documents.

Of particular interest is there is no reference to a "previous spouse name" and he is listed as single. It would be quite interesting and an amazing coincidence if he had the same parent names as well as similar birthdate as the "Milton MacBride" listed in the family tree.
