I've discovered that hoax photographs cannot be disassociated from geni.com profiles by even curators. I tried to start a project, but you can't add a profile to a project unless you are a manager. Pointing out a couple of hoaxes actually got me kicked off one of the profiles by a curator. I don't think it's really fair when all I'm trying to do is make sure the profiles of my ancestors are accurate. Isn't there any way to bring up this issue beyond the curator level?

Adam,

1. It is not possible for a curator to remove a manager from a profile. I don't even know how to do so.

2. If you post the PID (the URL) of the profile in question, the activity log should show what actually happened. Please do so and also please open a help ticket on it for your concern.

3. Escalation is *always* possible - help@ geni.com or the help link at the bottom of every geni page.

4. Even if you don't have access to a profile to add it to a Project, if you post the link in the Project discussion a curator can bring it into the Project or look into the issue. I have several collaborations on family lines which work exactly that way.

5. Curators do have the workaround of adding a better image on top of an erroneous one. The "media gallery" will still have the other photos, as they belong to the managers of the profile, but curators can add a better image as the default one, or reshuffle the gallery so a more accurate image shows. For most people most of the time, that will in fact help ensure the integrity of the profile.

Hope this helps.
