Actually it should say:
ç=ç as in Françoise
é=Ã as in Joséphat
É=ÃÂ as in Élisabeth
é=é as in Sauvé
The 2 different spellings of é was probably done by other keys. I tend to use the ALT+Numeric key pad to make the accent marks, but some others may have a French keyboard or copying and pasting from a different website.
I have noticed sometimes I may have Picked a maiden name for a stacked merge that I was completing, and I may have an é, and they have a similar e with the same accent. Instead of showing ONE name, it shows 2 separate names. Her maiden name the way I spell it and her maiden name the way the comanager spells it...looks exactly the same, but I do mine with Alt+Number and they did theirs with a French keyboard.
