To get a useful list of possible profiles that might belong to a particular geni.com project try adding a significant term relating to your project along with the the google.com flag to search for that particular term only on geni.com. This is called a site specific search and looks like this:
your_subject site:geni.com
For example to search for:
Puritans
Civil War
Jewish
Salem Witch
Wikipedia
Quaker etc...
Google this:
puritans site:geni.com
civil war site:geni.com
jewish site:geni.com
salem witch site:geni.com
wikipedia site:geni.com
quaker site:geni.com
