This is a master project covering the Mormon Pioneers. Between 1847-1868 some 70,000 people would travel to Utah and then other parts of the western United States as part of the great western migration originally led by Brigham Young. Driven by their desire to find a place where they could practice their religion, the Latter-Day-Saints then went on to establish communities though out the west.
If you have an ancestor who was a Mormon Pioneer you are encouraged to "follow" or "contribute" to the project.
To collaborate reply to this announcement and add a link to your geni user name along with the migration year for the project you would like to be added to.
For example:
Randy Stebbing 1856 Mormon Pioneer project
I'll then add you as a collaborator on that project and you can then add your ancestors to it.
