{a gift} token

Hear, hear! I started on a bunch of them, but jeez it's frustrating to translate the gift name and the holiday name umpteen times. The {gift} token in these translations should be accompanied by an {occasion} token for Mother's Day/ Hanukkah/ Christmas, etc.

I agree, but - there will/shall be different translations for "real gifts" like Cake, Wine, Teddy bear etc. and "actions" like hugged, kissed, smiled etc.
(asked for a kiss for; kissed, kissed for; hugged; hugged for; smiled at; smiled at for)

NB! the Calendar dates shall be modified! There are other (European, African, Asian, Australian etc.) dates needed! Also for Mother's Day and Father's Day user shall be capable to chose dates:

I have requested a generic, table driven approach to these strings along the lines of :

- {actor} {action} {target} {a something} {occasion} {date}

or

- Give access to extract this plethora of strings for local "string calculations" handling (e.g. in Excel) and then be able to load them into the system as a batch (CSV format incl. translation key). Geni staff would do the actual batch export/import to ensure process quality.

If dealing with gifts - I believe that a matching table is necessary.
It will be very insulting sent a Muslim person piggy for Rammadan or Jewish person a cake for Passover.
it's also ridiculus to send anniverary gifts for birthday and so on.

I would be okay with just:
{actor} gave {target} {a gifts) for Christmas
{actor} gave {target} {gifts} for Christmas

Prepositions sometimes change based on the holiday/occasion.

I do think {action} would be a good token too, though I can't say if it would work for every language.
{actor} {action} {target} for Christmas

If the {action} becomes a token then there will a liitle problem with "gave" to and "smiled" at.

"smiled at" of course would be a full token.

I'm trying to see if its a good solution at the languages I speak (Hebrew,Russian).
It seems ok to make an {action} token that consists of the action and the relation:
smiled at","gave to","wished for" and so on"
now here is the big question - WHEN????

I can make due without an {action} token but {gifts} and {a gift} tokens, I can not.
