tree conflict

I see that quite often. It probably means someone-else has merged before you.

Lately I have also been noticing that even after you have sent birthday or anniversary wishes the names keep appearing and you end up wishing the same person Happy Birthday two or three times. Now how do you explain that.

I took a look at the profile and it appears that the merge has been completed. Then I looked at the tree view and found a bunch of yellow triangles. There are conflicts waiting to be resolved, probably caused by the merge.

Not being familiar with this part of the tree, I would prefer not to resolve the conflicts. I surely would not want to mess up anyone's hard work. If you have any difficulty resolving the conflicts, you can post a message asking for Curator assistance. Other curators are more comfortable in that part of the tree than I am.

I get that a lot. I get a notice about a duplicate profile and when I click on it, it says the merge is already completed.

Someone-else may have merged and Geni is slow at updating.

Geni sends the message out to all managers at the same time. You will fail to find it when you click on it if either merge was done by someone else, or more data added or changed, perhaps to other profile, so they no longer appear to be a match.
