There is big confusion in the tree at this point. No consensus seem to exist whether Kirsten Pedersdotter Rimboldtsen was a daughter from the first marriage with Dorthe Jensdatter Blovh or the second marriage with Karen Tromslager.

The daughter has also been married both to Jens Pedersen Bering ca 1580 - ca 1655 (75) and to a Peder Pedersen Bering 1595 - circa 1631. Aas seen in the tree here http://www.geni.com/family-tree/index/6000000002921195561 the latter is also alledged to be the son of the former. Thus Kirsten would have been married to her own son.

What mkes this incestious scenario extremely unlikely is that Peder Pedersen's name does not allow for his father's name to have been Jens.

There are several errors there.
I will take a close look tonight.

According to the research of my grandfather the Bering marked as Kirsten's and Jens's grandson was in fact their son. Peder Pedersen may just be one generation too much.
Of course he could be another husband of Kirsten's, just with the same family name by chance. In those days the bourgeoisie could well have married one brother after another.

There are at least seven Peder Bering... - no wonder people makes bad merges, especially if they have not changed the stupid Geni setting which hides the middle name where we put the patronymic name.

To all of you: Please check if you have enabled the display of middle name: http://www.geni.com/account_settings/name_preferences
