Can I get a fellow curator to undo this bad merge?
http://www.geni.com/merge/compare/6000000008007946298?idx=0

It keeps taking me to an error page, and I'm not sure if it's me or Geni.

I'm having the same problem. I just keep getting the Technical Difficulties error message.

same here-- Tech. Difficulties

Same here...technical difficulties. Could it be that it is 'flagged' by Mimi???

Me too - make a ticket!!!

Same here.

I had the same issue that lasted for many days so I sent it to geni and they undid it.

still not working

How about messaging the person who merged them to undo his own merge? this guy: Private User

Thanks for all your help. I sent an urgent help ticket in. Feel free to delete your posts and when all have done, so I will to delete this thread....

Suggestion: There may be a bug in the program that prevents merging or unmerging of profiles designated MP. I recommend removing the Master Profile designation and then attempt to separate the conjoined twins.

Tried to disable MP and locking on both but there are still a technical error in the Undo merge.

I have locked both profiles again to avoid a merge.

Thanks for your help you guys...

Ashiya said she would get back to me when they unstack these profiles.

For people who are no longer using Geni, but their trees have major mistakes. Can something be done to do a ripple effect, fixing the mistakes of say from three or four generations back? The long dead relatives, can their profiles be fixed by default even thought the tree owner is no longer interested? Merging trees is difficult when some stop cooperating.

Are you asking about the merge attempts where it says "you don't have permission to edit this profile"?

Yes, Curators may be able to help you with some of those cases -- on public profiles in the "historical" tree.

If you run across a profile that seems jammed up, start a discussion from the "discussions" tab of it and put in the heading, Curator Assistance requested, and the name of the profile with approx dates (we divide ourselves into historical periods).

That way we can "catch the case" and investigate with a base point. Some cases get *really* snarled and take weeks, some are easily resolved.

My material Real Great G Grandparents and their parents. I think their are some 5 John Real's. Chuck and Bridget Real refuse to cooperate.

Can you provide a link, maybe to the profile you made, and to the one Chuck and Bridget made for comparison?

You can copy and paste the URL from the browser address bar into the text of any message.
