There is already a discussion going on among the curators and Noah on this. If you look further down Geni have already removed the Forum link at the bottom of the Geni pages as a result of that, which means that the forum will be gone sooner or later.

Hm. I think the discussion forum had quite a few features that the public discussions don't have yet - perhaps the most important being a quick list of top topics. In "Discussions", I don't see any way to tell when Noah announces a new feature and the followup discussion from that; in the forum, the "sticky" topics served that purpose.

A while ago I floated the idea of a "newscrawl" from the geni.blog to our "homepage." Would that resolve the "sticky" issue?

I hope we 'COLLABORATORS' are not going to be left out of these discussions!!

We were always included in the past...

If the Forum is discarded it is important that the Public Discussions can be "pinned" (=sticky) by the Geni team and possibly Curators to reach the whole Geni community. At the moment we are not notified of all the discussions we should be reading. (I was not notified of this one ...)

There will be some organized topic discussion threads coming along.

Personally I would never leave you out of anything, Angus.

Geni mail might be slow ...
