After they were married Jean-Baptiste and Judith went on to have 18 children, of which many died young. I assume they lived on a parcel of land that Judith's father Antoine gave her as a dowry, I am not sure where this land was situated. They lived out there lives in St. Anicet area.

Could this be Saumier Mountain in Quebec?

This information came from a nephew of Medric Saumier. His father was his older brother John-Baptiste Alfred Saumier. His grandfather died in 1932, but he remembers as a child a trip to visit his father's family. He thinks it was 1931 when he was 8 years old and the family gathering was in Montreal, St. Anicet, L'Assomption, Huntingdon, and Saranac Lake, N.Y.

I found out that Alphonso is the nephew of Mederic Saumier. I have linked this part of the family with our. Not done yet. We are descendants of Francois Saumier and Alphonso is related to Francois's younger brother Jean-Baptiste.
