Our dear Kondai Chittappa passed away on June 23, 2010. I was lucky enough to be in India at this time, and to be present on July 5 during the 13th day pooja at his residence on July 5.
To me, he was Kondai Chittappa. To many, he was Kondai mama, or Kondai Periappa.
To all, he was this jovial man, who always carried a radiant smile, and made you laugh. It was always fun to have him around in weddings and gatherings. If he was with the company of an older person, you could hear him discussing philosophy seriously. Right next moment, you could hear him talk to an adolescent teenager, almost becoming one that very instant.
Since he could not be present for this event (!), we tried to keep his spirit alive, and inject humor when we could. Siddharth (Sridhar's son) and I tried to capture some moments, so that we can share this album with you.
I will never forget the time in Delhi when I got to know Kondai chittappa the best. I never forget all the things that he has done for us and our family, and the extended family as well.
May is soul rest in peace, and may he continue to bless us all with great times.
