Hi Cousin,
Yes, my Y-DNA is a bit unlike all the other Stantons on the surname project. It is, however, very unusual in general, so when we find a match, things should be very clear. Apart from just one of my markers (DYS393), I am a prototype of a particular "haplotype" that is quite common in W Europe. However, for that marker, I have 12 alleles, while the modal value is 13 for all Europeans. I confirmed this, and had a colleague of mine do another test for me, and he got DYS393=13. It is thought that all people in Europe who have DYS393=13 (about 0.3%) and otherwise belong to this haplotype (it is called h35 A2, or R1b*) descend from perhaps a single Roman soldier who was conscripted from Turkey or somewhere thereabouts.
