What evidence is there he was born at Skåle and not somewhere else? I do believe you could be correct and that Sara, Dorthe and Elen Johnsdatter are all his sisters.
All of them are living at Estil in 1801.
Certainly Sara and Elen are sisters.
When he died in 1804 he was recorded as John Johnsen Estil.
