Very interesting, thanks.
ONe of his decendants was Eleanor of Acquetaine (sp?)
I really enjoy reading about her. My line supposedly goes back to them through the family of Obadiah Bruen an early puritan in America.

have you found your link back there yet? i know its a mess up there in those branches, but a few of us really are working on it. it really only "seemed" like he had 700 children and 300 wives ^U^

Jacki, I'd love to have the GEDCOM w/ sources and correct info. Everytime I look, my path back changes to some distant relationship, even though I know some of my lines do connect directly. Very frustrating - and I'm so afraid of making a mistake in merging some areas I'm not familiar with.

@Kathleen, I've known a few guys who wouldn't mind the 300 wives/concubines though, lol.

@Nell, interesting - I don't have a Bruen ancestor, but do have several lines coming from the early Puritans in America too. One of my lines also supposedly goes back to Eleanor of Aquitaine/Plantagenets - would explain my (and my sister's) obsession with the Plantagenets from the time we were students!

My email address is janice_weeks@msn.com or jannetie179@hotmail.com

Thank you so much, Jacki,
Janice

I agree, Janice. When I check out the path back to a particular ancestor, say Cleopatra IV, I know I am related on my mother's mothers side because that's where I found the thread. I find I am related other ways too. The last time I checked out her profile, It showed I was related through my mother's father. I did a hmmmmmmmm on that one.
Maybe when we find obscure info, note where it was obtained ie, GEDCOM etc to show those of us who are newbies that the information was verified by a reliable source and should NOT be changed.
Hey what happened to being able to click on relation bar and not being able to see how we are related to each other?

Yes I'd love the GEDCOM mgcaulk65583@yahoo.com so many people put info in with no sources what so ever. no wonder people have 30 wives and 300 children sometimes with simular names, but the birth days decades apart and sometime the children were born before the parents etc, etc....
thanks in advance

@Dez, sorry for the late reply. Someone here on the forums mentioned that perhaps the 'path' changed in connection to any new info added recently. Oddly enough, the paths I could no longer find a month ago are now back in place! I think with people working on the trees and all the messed and mixed up info in some places, some information might have been down for a while? Just a guess on my part, don't really know!
But great idea on the gedcom info - I uploaded a gedcom myself, my own reliable one back to the 1300s in some lines, then the things I found through LDS (I added my own TO that one, not the other way around) - which, as I learned later, had no sources in it. When my sis-in-law and I first started using their facility, we were told the medieval records were reliable - I think it might have been wishful thinking on their part!!! lol
